Living Well with Parkinson's
Move with confidence. Stay active. Maintain your independence.
Move with confidence. Stay active. Maintain your independence.
Living with Parkinson’s can affect movement, balance, strength and everyday activities — but staying active and learning the right strategies can make a meaningful difference.
Our Parkinson’s Community Program is designed to help people living with Parkinson’s better understand their condition, build confidence with movement and develop practical strategies for staying active and independent.
Led by our Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team, the program combines Parkinson’s-specific education, exercise and practical strategies in a supportive group environment.
What will we cover?
Throughout the program, we explore:
Understanding Parkinson’s – how Parkinson’s can affect movement, function and everyday life.
Exercise & Parkinson’s – understanding why regular exercise is important and how to exercise safely and effectively.
Walking, balance & falls prevention – practical strategies to improve confidence with mobility and reduce falls risk.
Strength & movement – exercises targeting strength, mobility, posture and larger, more purposeful movements.
Freezing & movement strategies – learning practical cueing and movement strategies that may help with common movement challenges.
Everyday activities – Occupational Therapy strategies to support independence and make daily activities easier.
Building exercise into everyday life – helping you develop strategies that are realistic and sustainable beyond the program.

Why exercise matters in Parkinson’s
Exercise is an important part of managing Parkinson’s. The right exercise can support strength, balance, mobility, physical fitness and confidence with everyday movement.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, our Physiotherapists help participants understand how to exercise for Parkinson’s and how activities can be adapted to individual abilities.
More than an exercise class
Our program isn't just about completing exercises.
We want you to understand why you're doing them, recognise strategies that work for you and feel more confident continuing to move outside of the program.
Our Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team brings together expertise in movement and everyday function to help you continue doing the things that matter to you.
Our goal is to help you keep moving, stay involved and maintain your independence while living with Parkinson’s.
