Helping You Live Well with POTS & Dysautonomia

Living with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) or another form of dysautonomia can affect every aspect of daily life. Symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, rapid heart rate, brain fog and exercise intolerance can make everyday tasks feel overwhelming.

At My Community Physio & OT, we understand that no two people experience POTS in the same way. Our physiotherapists and occupational therapists provide personalised, evidence-informed care to help you better understand your condition, improve daily function and work towards the goals that matter most to you.

Whether you've recently been diagnosed, are exploring a possible diagnosis, or have been living with symptoms for years, we're here to support you.

What is POTS?

POTS is a condition that affects the autonomic nervous system, which controls many automatic functions of the body, including heart rate, blood pressure and circulation.

When someone with POTS moves from lying or sitting to standing, their body has difficulty adjusting to the change in position. This can result in symptoms such as:

  • Dizziness or light-headedness

  • Rapid heart rate

  • Fatigue

  • Brain fog

  • Exercise intolerance

  • Palpitations

  • Shortness of breath

  • Nausea

  • Headaches

  • Temperature regulation difficulties

  • Fainting or feeling faint

Symptoms can vary significantly between individuals and often fluctuate from day to day.

  • Conditions Commonly Seen Alongside POTS

Many people living with POTS also experience other conditions, including:

    • Migraine

Our physiotherapists focus on improving physical capacity, strength, exercise tolerance and symptom management, while our occupational therapists help you develop practical strategies to manage fatigue, daily routines, work, study and everyday activities.

    By working collaboratively, we can:

    • Develop shared goals that reflect what matters most to you.

    • Coordinate treatment plans to reduce duplication and provide consistent care.

    • Support both your physical function and everyday participation.

    • Provide practical strategies that fit your lifestyle.
